Was reading the NST just now, was furious and was wondering what is happening to the society, the news was where a year old toddler was raped by two grown up. What is so luring those two bastard to the little toddler barely one years old. OMG, sick bastards!!! Other than that, this spark my will to blog about it. The title of the news is 'RM20 to watch a Hollywood movie?'(http://www.nst.com.my/Current_News/NST/Wednesday/National/2435809/Article/index_html)
The Malaysia Film Producers Association is pushing for their luck. They are working their ways to increase the movie ticket from current RM9-RM12 to at least RM20 in order to boost up the support that cinema goers to go for local film as compared to Hollywood. Is that the idea? Yes, that could happen, but who will benefit more? At the current pricing, the pirates already selling at the price ranging from RM5-RM13 a show. When they hike up the price, i believe that local movie will goes up in sales, probably they will domonate malaysia market as most cinema goers will opt for home video entertaintment, courtesy of 'legal' pirates of Malaysia. They then could also hike up the price of the DVDs as demand increase, price also can increase according to economic theory. So think deep, who will benefits the most?
Common, use your brain, don't keep it in the freezer. Think of a better solution than that, is that all you have MFPA? BTW, do Malaysia really produce good quality English movies at this moment? I don't think so... If that really happens, bet a lot of people will go jobless by then. Wondering why? Imagine Mid Valley GSC with 20 screens, all showing local film, little showing Hollywood movies as it is so expensive and cheaper solutions available, then surely they management would need to cut some people and those unlucky, sorry for you, go and curse the MFPA.
To all in the film industry, you need to find and make a living and not just by cutting short on your competitor. It doesn't work that way.
