Ice-Cream + Driving

Its a big no no. Went for a drive-thru for ice-cream after dinner for 2 sundae cone and it nearly ended up in misery or expensive ice-creams. My friend wanted to feed me the ice-cream when i was about to turn out and in front the taxi was doing a quick stop as he spotted a potential customer at spots where he is not allowed to pick up customer. With my right foot, stomp on the brake on time and avoided the physical contact of both our cars, it was a close call...

Damn you taxi drivers for stopping at your own will and also taking the whole road as your road !!!

Friend or not to Friend?

Yesterday was indeed a nice day. Met one of my old friend, or i would say, once a friend but due to some misunderstanding we just kept our silence until yesterday. The truth has revealed, at least some but not all as she has forgotten some of the minor details which claim unimportant anymore since it has been so long. Knowing me, curiosity rules, i tried my best to dig out the truth but seems it was a dead end as she does have a short term memory indeed. However, we cleared things out and had a great conversation all together.

Our conversation did brought back old memories, of our friendship, of how our life used to be in the old times where we classify it as "The Good Old Days" when most things do not matters, at least for me where living life freely and enjoying it to the fullest was the motto but looking back at now, things seem changed compared to our daily life now. Less exciting and not as care free as what it used to be but this is life to be real.

After having the conversation yesterday, feel quite happy and overjoyed for saving a long left aside friendship and most of all, we get to be friend from now on and also the days to come. Promised her no photo of her on my blog, no details, nothing related to her or what so ever or i would face the death sentence for our friendship which i have sought back since yesterday. I would not want to let it go just like that, hence i would have to abide to her wish and also to my promise.

Bet some of you are thinking, why the hack i am so afraid of her, like when i am afraid of my mum when i was 7 years old not doing my homework and my mum chasing me with a cane or threaten to throw me into the Tasik Titiwangsa or etc when i skip maths class or plan to copy my maths homework from other. Sigh, not that she is comparable to my mum or she = my mum, just that she can be furious at time and for the record, i do not want to make her furious also, why want to get my ass burned? Not wise at all :) Indeed, she was a good friend of mine, what have been and what will be in the days to come. Hope to keep in touch always and thank you for giving us a chance to be friends back. Friendship last forever, it is true if we stay true to friends.

P/S: If you have any doubts on your friends or what so ever, don't hesitate to ask thinking asking is just going to make things worst, believe me by not asking, things might get even uglier :)

Informatics - Pro. Certification

This is one of the information provided by Informatics @ their official website, http://www.informatics.com.my/edm/psd_jan2/

image

Let me focus more on the interesting part, the photo of the ambassador/guy. Illustrated as below:

image

The guy, lets call him Ken since he looks like Ken. Why is Ken a little short of hair? I wonder if he is really that tall of that would be done using photoshop software to drag and make the person higher/taller. He does look good in blazer indeed but seems that the watch do not really go well with that suit. Perhaps something more vibrant and not that old fashion would do a better job eventually?

Ken do not originate from Informatics as i recalled, it was called Sedaya, at least what i used to be called. Undergraduate in the Engineering field. Looking at the list below for the Professional certification, seem quite some offering :)

Anyway, the guy i called as Ken is one of my best friend that i got to know during my high school. So just having this post up to tease him a little and also to congrat him on his first ambassador publicly :)

What a day...

Its weekend again for me as i worked on the weekday shift. Went to LowYat to get several items for myself, sister and also my dad. Spend too much today, paid the bill for RM600++. Came back, played with my new toy, the wireless mouse which cost me about RM75, something which i was looking to get for some time already.

The past week has been tiring as i was on shift. I was sick on Wednesday and Thursday, with a slight sore throat and flu. At last, today i went to see the doctor near my house so that i can get well soon.

Nothing much to say today, hope tomorrow would be a better day instead.

Aqmar's Wedding Day

Yesterday, i have attended Aqmar's wedding celebration at Putrajaya, her house at Precint 10. Decided to convoy there from Wisma 1 at about 1pm. Some were late as usual, i arrive at about 1.02pm cause i went to fill in my petrol tank.

After about 25 minutes waiting, we have accumulated all those present and started our journey to Aqmar's house. We traveled there in 6 cars. Those present were Chee Lung, his wife, Richard, Shuh Han, Sarah, Aida, Nizam, Seaw Wei, his girlfriend, Khai Chen, Chin Leng and me.

Way there was okay, but the parking was hard as there was a lot of attendee and car were parked along the roadside with the guide of the security personnel. After parking our car, we walked to her house, Aqmar was still in the house while waiting for the 'Pengantin Lelaki' to approach the house. We settled ourselves at the table, Andrew Wong was there with his wife way earlier than us and he nearly finished with his dish when we arrive.

After eating at the table, i was not eating as i was feeling a little too hot at the place as the weather was rather hot these few days. Just drank lots of H2O to cool my body and also to get more fluid to my system. Later, went on shooting some photos for the events. Some of the photos taken are as below.

Don't go napping everywhere, you end up losing only...

Saw this newspaper report from TheStar at the following URL, Rude shock for guard

image

Read more from the link above.

The old man was napping there but he was caught. Not the issue that he was caught, just that the treatment that he got from the respective government officials, such disappointment...

As quoted:

I was stripped naked and given a sarong. They also gave me a plastic mat, blanket and pillow,” he said.

Initially he was refused a call to his employer as he only had 30 sen left on his prepaid phone.

However, when the officer discovered that he had a Maybank account, and upon giving his PIN number and ATM card, he was allowed to use the handphone immediately, Lim said.

The officer, Lim claimed, said he would top up the credit on the phone.

Personal Views:

Can the official refuse him his rights to call a person and also to prove his statement that he is not homeless and jobless? I thought we were still relying on evidence rather than the mood of the officer? Obtaining the PIN for the ATM? First of all, is he in the right place to ask for the PIN number? Who is he? His father? Father also can report police if this happens. Helping him to top up or just another way to say, i am going to top-up my wallet using your ATM card, like it or not, i am going to get the money, like it or not, you are going to give me the PIN. PIN = Personal Identification Number and only to be known by the single person only, not on sharing basis.

Sigh, based on the story by the man, hopefully he is not old until 'nyayuk' and if that story turns out to be true, the officer do not deserve to be in the Welfare Department, could it be personal welfare? Guess not...who cares...

"He who holds the authority always find their way through"...

Hope this man get his justice and also the officer in the report. My comments are only based on the facts that the story is actually correct and not based on individual basis. But it would be rather stupid of him to have documented his 'arrest' and then taking his ATM card for a joy ride, it's so stupid at is points it back to him... :)

My LAST day @ Tioman 6 rig & @ Labuan, Sabah

Date: 4 January 2008

Time: 4:30pm

Venue: Labuan Airport

Woke up as requested, by about 1am. Got all my stuff, packed it in my bag and started heading down to the Radio Room, then Paul tried to radio the boat that i am suppose to board, Tanjung Huma, it is already parked nearby already, waiting for unloading and loading of stuff and passenger which includes me. Later Paul radio the other boat, Permint Aman which is suppose to load the required material from the port and the replied that he got is that the expected ETA to Tioman-6 rig is about 7.15am, which means i would need to stay at Tioman-6 until that time also. Looking at the time, 1.00am contrasting with the time i would board the boat, it is a difference of 6 hours which eventually lead me back to my sleep. Went up to my room again, leaving behind my big Halliburton bag at the Radio Room to be looked after by Paul.

I had sleepless night before i woke up at 1am just now. Seems that i can lay my mind to rest, keep on thinking a lot of stuff and also can hear the snore of the other guys in the room, my own watch ticking and also the surrounding. My mind is at an alert stage where i was not able to properly rest my mind. Perhaps the other reason is that i was pretty much anxious to be able to go back to KL and also to come back quietly. Bet few would be surprised and happy to see me :D I already broke the news to my parents, they seems happy for my return :)
Now i am sitting at the Labuan airport, waiting for the plane to arrive and also to board the plane which is suppose to depart at 5:20pm. Let me share a little more about the few hours that i had before reaching to where i am sitting now.

I was on the boat ride for about 4 hours plus, can't blame them for the speed, as the boat is carrying heavy loads. Over heard that they have some goods amounting up to few hundred tonnes. How to go fast with all that weight? While waiting for the boat to reach it's destination, i watched a movie in the video room which one of the Geoservices guy brought along. They put it to such load volume where it kind of irritates my ear. During the movie, one of the guy was smoking in the room, in the closed area, the smoke stinks to the max and i have to bear with it as the movie was kind of interesting and also bad of me to walk out of the room to discriminate the smokers. Guess i at last realize that most of those people working on the rigs are heavy smoker. Guess that would be their only leisure while being away from home and their comfort zone. People do say that working offshore is a stress and high tension working environment. Guess that is where the 'pain killers sets in.

After the boat stop near to the jetty, we switched boat to a speed boat to the jetty, to avoid the custom officer as i was told. I really wonder why. Anyway, that was a pleasant ride after few hours of boredom in the boat and the blow of the sea wind to the face is much comforting i would say. After that, we (the three of us) went for the horrible chicken rice i ever ate at Labuan, perhaps it was halal and therefore tasteless :P Then i went for shopping, got a bottle of Martini and also a bar of Old Jamaica then took a cab to the airport.

At the airport, wondered around looking for more chocolates for my friends and family. At last the bill amounted to RM70 plus. Hmm...i wonder, but what is money when u cant spend it :) Later went to the MAS office to get my receipt printed for the check in to the departure hall and after the check in, here i am sitting down at where i am blogging currently while waiting for those photos that i have took to be processed by the software with my trademark and signature to be posted online later when i got home.

Opps...i forgot to mention about the lady in red tank top with short mini skirt who was in the MAS office also, got her number and step out while waiting for her number to turn up. Hmm...wonder why she do not want to stay. Could it be that her skirt is so short that she cannot sit else she will expose part of her panties, if she wears any...:P or would it be because she got some old guy hidden in the car outside the airport waiting for her to come back to him? Hmm...just don't know, just wondering of the possibilities.

Now, 4:52pm, i saw the plane that would be flying me back to KL arrived and the passenger from KL is leaving the plane fading into the arrival hall. Guess it wouldn't be long before i can board the plane. Guess what would be the first thing to do when i reach the plane later? Lay down my ass and then ask for a drink. I am very thirsty now, kind of dehydrated and would need a glass of juice or drink to water me else i would wilt like plants :P or perhaps the weather in Labuan is much hotter which would dehydrate me even more. No wonder the gal was on mini skirt and tank top, obviously for better air flow and also ventilation which is very important in aerodynamics. Does she needs it? Guess not as she was not boobless or boob less. Cheers, just trying to express the evil side of me while waiting for the flight to go home... Let me pen off now and board the plane as soon as possible.

I NEED WATER/H2O !!!

My SECOND day @ Tioman 6 rig

Date: 3 January 2008

Time: 6:53pm

It has been about 36 hours that i have landed on T6 rig, being living for the past 36 hours with the nature movement of mother earth, referring to the mighty ocean-the wave. Been having some minor dizziness due to the strong wave and current, got over it by sleeping over it as that would be the best option that i could think of. It works for me :)

For the past 12 hours from my previous blog, i have not did anything very much daring or special, mostly spend my time in the radio room to monitor the data coming in. Have been awake since 12.45am this early morning which was due to the data not transmitting correctly. I have to wear my suit (PPE) and went out to check on the coupler in the middle of the night. Gosh, lucky i was not thrown off to the sea as the time was so late, guess no one could ever found out.

The drilling ended today at about 3pm plus and then this means that i could be heading home, first to Labuan then to KLIA before reaching Bangsar. When i got to know of the news, i was kind of excited to be able to go home, not to say that the environment here is not good, just that i left in such a hurry and i just came back from Cameron the previous day before i have to fly myself over to Labuan and onto T6. I didn't have much time to settle down, to rest or to review back the previous year, 2007 and also for the year 2008. While i was here, i was kind of in a shock state, where i could not concentrate to think what to expect for the coming year and etc. So i believe once i return back to KL, i would be able to do those and also to spend some time with my family or loved ones.

I am making the arrangements for my flights changes. BRB.

8:11pm.

Just came back from the radio room. Seems that i have booked for the later flight which i might have to spend few hours loitering around. Tried to call MAS if can put me on the booking list for the earlier flight in case i would be able to make it on time, but they says a charges of RM100 would be implemented for the change of travel time. Gosh. Then if to stick to the 5.20pm flight, it should be alright in the sense that i would be arriving in KL at about 9pm. I guess i would still have time to go and surprise my friend that i am back.

Now just about 6 hours to 2am, my heart seems anxious to go home and also feel kind of missing this place also. There have been many nice people here that have guided me and also being friendly with me and also helping and guiding me all these while for the new kid like me in their field. Really appreciate their kindness and help all these while.

I will be getting my nap now so that i can have a good rested day tomorrow and for me to spend some time with my loved ones. See you all tomorrow and i am so glad to be back :D

Cheers and good bye to Tioman-6 and aloha to KL...

My FIRST day @ Tioman 6 rig

Date: 2 January 2008
Time: 6:50pm

Guess what, i am currently blogging in the middle of the large ocean in Labuan area, approx 4 hours of boat ride from Labuan to the rig. I got the confirmation call for this trip to the rig at about 12 noon of 1 January 2008, when i was still outside at my friends place to help him with some setting up of computer, right after i got the call tha ti would need to go, there would be several things which i would need to finalize before i can board my plane at 6:45pm @ KLIA (Business Class). I left my friends house and straight went to office to pick up some of the essential things that i would need to bring over to T-6. I left the office at about 4:00pm, hoping to reach home by 4.30pm and to once again leave my house at about 5.00pm after i packed all my stuff, but i failed to follow to my schedule as it was my first time ever to pack my stuff and leave for the rig, doing something so new to me and further more without much guidance from any seniors as they are not coming with me, would put it this way, if they were able to make it, then i would not need to go eventually. Really glad my dad was supportive, forever supportive. He drove me to the KLIA airport, we were late but i know we could not have mad it at 5.45pm after all, looking at the road condition and the weather which was not on my side as it was raining at some certain stretch of the road.

I boarded the plane at about 6.30pm, looking back to bid farewell to my parents, really appreciate them being there for me. The plane took off as scheduled and arrive at the Labuan airport as scheduled also but it was a bumpy landing which was caused by the runway being uneven. Came out of the airport after got my lugguage, i called the person to direct me to the boat. It was raining, the taxi driver drove me to the boat, Permint Aman. As i walked out of the taxi, i am drenched wet already. When i step foot into the boat, gosh. My footwear was wet but the puddle of water around there. I was kind of lost, not sure which way i should use to get into the boat, but eventually, i found my way through it. When i went into the living cabin, one person was there already. We chatted for a while before another person came in.

I was told that the boat is filling up the cement, would take about 4 hours before the cement tank is filled and to start journey. Hence i was to reach the rig at about 6am in the morning. Gosh, what a long wait. Wanted to watch some movie while waiting, but was kind of tired after the whole long day, so decided to get some sleep. I was not sleeping soundly as i am pretty much awake. Perhaps due to the wave movements which i was not used to.

Upon reaching the rig, i was given the safety briefing on the platform and also the barge. Hmm...it was okay i guess, just pretty much lonely and boring as i am all alone there. Sigh, not complaining but the place is alien to me and also the personnel there. They are friendly as they do acknowledge me when we meet face to face with each other, just not much topic that came out.

Some of the stuff i did today was to cross over to the platform to the MWD unit. I ad to climb up a "rope" ladder and then up the ramp to the platform. It was a way new experience for me though. After getting myself there, i then went back to the rig to have my dinner and also my bath as i need to sleep early as i would be waking up pretty early tomorrow for the drilling commencement at about 3am tomorrow. I would want to be up by 2am. So i will be heading for my sleep now. Forget to mention on my bed, it is a bunk bed, i am sleeping on the top deck and my whole room is moving up down up down all the time. Sigh, hope to get a good sleep.

What i miss: my bed, kl life, tv, my pillows, my Internet connection, my telephone line, my family, my friends and my darling too. Miss them all and especially her... Hope things will be better for me tomorrow, after i wake up. I was told that i only need to be there for 3-4 days, but guess it would not be that short after all. Speculating to be coming back after one week where i think i would be so miserable now thinking of the one week. Sigh...not going to write more, else even heart breaking for my first ever experience in the rig. Good night to all, need to get some sleep already. May i have a better day tomorrow.

Cheers~

Time Ended: 7:25pm
