So near yet so far

I am still about 5 hours from KL city or known as home. Curretnly now awaiting for my transit flight from KK to KL at about 3:30pm. Had some lunch, now waiting for time to past and also converting a concert for my Nokia 5800, so that i can have some in-flight entertaintment later for the duration of 2hrs 25min.

Been so long i travel offshore this time, normally was just at most about 2 weeks, this trip is nearing one whole hitch for those other offshore guys whereby they normally do 28 days and in this trip, i clock in 25 days myself. During this duration of 25 days, i was on standby, merely with things to do and daily was just awaiting for time to past and the next day to come. I feel pretty much dumb for being needed to standby and those eyes of others who are there. They kind of looking down on us for doing nothing there, just eat and sleep for long duration, but do they know what we or i would say myself not that kind of person to get money just like that? I am not, and i dont enjoy that kind of life, but i have no choice to start with, so there i was for 25 days!

Now, when i get back i hope to get some rest and also spend time with family while awaiting for the photo shoot in the coming month where i hope i would be further practise my skills and also do some nice shots for some lovely couple :-)

Kay Elle, wait for me i am rushing back ASAP...

Waiting...still waiting...

Every morning i wake up with a similar thought in my head; when can i go back? This thought has been running for the past 1 week already. This is because i was originally supposingly to stay for like 2 weeks, but now already the 3rd week and going towards the 4th week and i am still stuck here, not knowing when will be my turn to leave the rig. This feeling, is not what i can endure for much longer. So much stress in waiting for something to happen and i can do shit about it. All i can is to wait for someone else to settle their shit, so that i can go. What kind of nonsense is this. Sigh... Hope my dreams will come true soon, to be able to go and back to my hometown, KL as soon as possible. Guess i am home sick already... on top of nothing to do for the past 3 weeks plus!

Cravings...

Not only ladies out there have cravings, even i do. What am i cravings for? Local food in KL which includes porky foods, mee, mamak food and etc... Soon i will have my hands on it to fulfill my poor stomach which has been deprived for about 3 weeks.

What else i will be doing when i reach back to kl?
  1. Clubbing - I need some night life - probably go to a club with some friends or so...
  2. Eat all the food that i longed for...
  3. Spend time with my loved ones - family, sarah, friends, jack-jack, meeko and etc...
  4. Get some thrill on the KL night roads - be damm with the drive slow, drive with my heart and feelings...
  5. SHOP, SHOP, SHOP!!!
  6. 3D - A Christmas Carol
  7. Photography shoot out :-) Been so long since i was with E-3 :-)
  8. Not to forget, my alcoholic drinks back home!!! Lets have a party :-)
  9. Sushi with my friends...
  10. Go with the flow of my heart :-) Get a life!!!

18++

Since 2 Nov 09 to date has been like 18 days that i am here in hte middle of the ocean. Still floating on good weather and also on bad weather, just having one aim which is to be around until they finish drilling this well. To ask me when can complete, i have got no firm answer as i ran out of answers to myself, all i am doing now is go with the flow. Why? Cause it is kind of dissapointing to me and those who wants me back in town by giving them false hope. So rather not giving false hope, i better not give any definite answer as well. Just hope to be back to town asap, as there are lots that i need to do before year end, some of it would be consider life changing decisions...

Change...

As always, change is inevitable in life. In fact i am now looking for some changes in my life as well, perhaps been in this comfort zone too much already and has felt the boredom of it already, just too lazy to move away. Looking forward to better opportunity and also chance to bloom, rather than sulking and not acting over it time after time.

1 liter of tears...

Had this movie for quite sometime, but didnt have the opportunity to watch it yet, as most of the time i was thinking that there are some other movie to watch other than this known sad movie. As usual, human will always have the habit of turning to something happy rather than something sad, so this movie has been rescheduled to a later date.

However on this trip to offshore, i brought along the DVD for this drama, and i started watching it in 2 days. At last completed the 11 episode of the drama, which is filled with tears, sorrow, happiness, strength, courage, friendship and family bond. What a great movie, no wonder the diary of Aka was sold so many copies all around, not to make everyone know her story of how sad her life was, but to give inspiration to everyone out there; for those who are sick and not 'perfect', you have your life too, and should live to the fullest and also to fight fight fight until the end; for those who are not that 'perfect', you still have a life and you should life on with the shortcoming of life and not just waste life and let it be. You may do your part to contribute to the society and mostly, your own life!

Life is short, you may not know what will come tomorrow or the destiny sets upon you. However you may choose your life and decide how you want to live for today and the days ahead. Don't just leave it to fate and let it be, instead fight on and enjoy life at the same time enjoy love; love of friends who cared, love of someone special to us in life and love of family members whom will not desert us until the very last minute (in normal circumstances applicable though there are family members whom are selfish and live for the sake of themselves only).

I too will live life to the fullest, can't wait for me to be back in town @ KL. So much more to do, so much more to venture and live to move forward with! I will be back!!!

Damm the cruelity to DOGS!!!

Read the article from TheStar online, was so crossed that those assholes back in Pulau Ketam allowed and permitted those inhuman act of leaving the dogs to die slowly. They don't take responsibilities of facing the issue that they are facing and just resort to killing them cold blooded. Without seeing them starving and cold to death, they just think it is alright for them to do so?

Damm them and may they be rot to hell. I pledge will not go to Pulau Ketam until this inhuman act is put to stop, don't want to contribute to their financial there as they don't deserve a single cent. They should be fined as well, each and every family should be fined, probably about RM200 per family to resolve the issue by accumulating the large amount to help to get proper people in to resolve the issue.

Other than that, law should be upheld on the island, no illegal breeding and etc. Damm them, asshole!!! Imagine if we were to treat them that way, letting them suffer, die of hunger and cold and even when die, will just be left like that!!!

Offshore again

Currently i am at Miri, waiting for my time to go offshore to Teknik Berkat again. I was back on land for 3 days and off i go again. But the past 3 days, i really enjoyed myself in town; spend time with my family, Sarah, Jack and also got to do some window shopping and have some different kind of food in town.

Hmm... how i feel this time? I would say better as i have been there before and also know some of the people there, not so alien. But to come to think of 2 weeks there doing nothing, hmm, that might be the turn off coz boring, nothing much to do, i dont have much movies with me, internet connection gonna be scare and also not nice to use internet and chatting away while the others do their daily work right...

Can consider i got myself prepared, in the way where i prepare some stuff to eat to pamper myself, my 3G connection (hope it works like a charm at TB) and also my movies (not a lot, but hope it is enough to last me through) and some nice treats for the people up there.

Now i just hope to earn more money from this trip and use it on something that i treasure, probably treat my parents and also for my photography gears :-) What i miss most is the good time in KL and also Sarah. Didnt get to spend much time with her lately as i was busy in work, and she also has her studies to juggle. So hope by year end, i can spend some time with her, probably a short weekend trip to somewhere for our vacation.

Year end coming, so much excitement in me. Year end means Christmas is coming to town, liked the christmas spirit a lot, though i am not a christian, but beats it and i join in the fun :-) Also looking forward to vacation with Sarah, her parents and also with my parents. Just hope i can get enough leave for year end :-)

Okay, that's for all now. Hope to blog more when i am up there (if possible). Would like to extend my condolences to Kumar for the departure of his grandpa. May he rest in peace and may your family be strong throughout this emotional period. To all other people, i miss you guys!

Frustration @ Work

Sigh, been having this feeling since a couple of months back, being over worked and also not enough hand to juggle with the unlimited amount of work. Most of all, we been keep on reminded to provide a high quality of services at all time, how is that posible with lack of man power and also we are fatique with the endless work?

Even today, when i am supposingly to be on MC as i was not feeling well few days before after returning from an offshore trip at Kertih, i was last minute asked to go to Labuan today for the crew boat to Teknik Berkat. The clock at that time is showing 3pm and the last flight out from KL to Labuan is 6.45pm. Gosh, only about 3 hours to settle all, get ready and good to go? OMG... it is raining some more, come on... give us some slack.

At last, manage to work our way through and stick back to the original plan, which is to travel to Miri on Friday and chopper out on Saturday. The Pro is that all is back on track but the cons is that me and Kumar will need to work extra hard as we have little time before they start their operations. Gosh, is this bad news or what? Anyhow, just need to make things happen and work like how it should be.

I hope things goes fine and once i come back, i think i deserve some rest that tightfully mine since i have been away for 2 consecutive weekends, and most important of all, i am NOT PAID tow work on weekends!!!

Destiny arrives...

From my previous entry, i was still awaiting if i would be required to go offshore assignment and hope that it will come later, after my photo shoot for my friend, Shiau Wan wedding. However, things are most likely turn up as not it is and i was to go for offshore assignment the same day of my previous entry. I manage to finish up the work soon and got back just in time for the wedding day on Sunday, where i reach KL on Saturday night.

After the wedding is over, i am much tired as i have a feeling that photographers (a good one) will be with the bride and groom throughout their wedding, from planning ahead to the actual day, from early morning make up time until late at night when the wedding banquet over and the final photo is taken as a couple on the stage. This means that each one out there get a once in a lifetime for their wedding experience, we photographers get so much more once in a lifetime wedding experience :-)

Now what i am looking forward is more rest from my busy schedule, either personal or work. I most probably will be required to travel offshore sometime soon, and what is pushing me would be the photos that i have yet to complete processing... Hope i can get it done as soon as possible, else i will have angry newly weds come chasing after me :-)

Lastly, congratulations to the newly weds; Yew Leong and Shiau Wan!

Awaiting my destiny

Looking ahead at the operation at my work place, it seems it will be a busy few weeks ahead as all the operation is picking up and required to go offshore again. Sigh, it just have to come at the very wrong timing, as my friend's (Shiau Wan) wedding is just around the corner, in fact this Sunday. I really hope that i can make it for her wedding and help her to shoot for her wedding day along with Sarah and Kuan Ming. Hmm... hope that i can make it, else Sarah will be doing the shooting on my behalf only.

Work lately, what could i say been pretty tiring even i get 8-10 hours of sleep. Perhaps like what they says, after battling for sometime continuous, its not so easy to replace the rest that was not taken earlier, what is done is done and can never be replaced that easily. So now i am suffering from that symptom. In fact, i am not alone as my colleague also going through the same phase as i am. Wonder how long it will be going on until our management thinks it is the right time to take in new people to help out the team. Damm...

Now i am still waiting for the call to go offshore, hoping not so soon, not so fast and not so early. Just want it to come after Shiau Wan's wedding, then i will go unrelentingly...

World of modeling

Was reading the newspaper, regarding one of the high profile issue in the modeling world. Ms. A was having some dispute over the franchise issue with one of the model agency, Ford. Hmm... been about a week on this issue, i was thinking myself, could this be a high attention drama to pull in more viewer for the show upcoming or to generate more investment from public as claimed that the show requires large amount of investment to make it happen. The reason for this show, to help the model of Malaysia to achieve their dreams. I was wondering if that is the main reason for the show or to reap $$$ out of the show. Just my curious thinking...

Current projects

Been quite busy with work lately and also includes my personal photography. I have been pretty busy for the past month with wedding photography; for Winnie, Poh Mui and Zi Wen. So means, i got so much more of photos to edit and preparation for all my hardwork to be part of my profile in photography.

Been able to learn and experience more in photography when i was doing practical on the wedding day itself. Lots have been learned, and now it is time for me to reflect back on the outcome and also to find ways to further improve my skills so that i could move forward.

As mentioned earlier, work load from office is picking up and this month, i might be needed to go offshore again to perform rig up and some maintenance. Quite sad to hear this as i have earlier promised Shiau Wan to take photos for her on her wedding day with Yew Leong. However, since i might not be able to make it, Sarah will take my place to take photos along with Kuan Ming. But deep down, i hope i can go lar, so that i can add one more to my profile and also to attend my friend's wedding :)

Lets see how it goes... just pray for the best!

From The Star : Scarred by fury of a woman

I was reading this piece of news as below from TheStar.com.my:

Scarred by fury of a woman
By NELSON BENJAMIN

JOHOR BARU: “I never ever want to see her again,” a 25-year-old police constable said of his ex-wife who allegedly splashed acid on him and his girlfriend at his home in Taman Selesa Jaya early Monday morning.
Jamaluddin Mat Isa said he had always known that his ex-wife would not leave him alone after he divorced her but he did not expect her to scar him and his girlfriend for life.
We were downstairs for a while before we went upstairs to bed when I suddenly felt a burning sensation on my back.
When I turned around, I saw my ex-wife splashing a solution which burnt my chest and hands,” he said yesterday when met at the Sultan Aminah Hospital here where he was warded for severe acid burns.
Victim of jealousy: Jamaluddin showing the injuries he sustained from the acid attack at his home in Taman Selesa Jaya at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital here Tuesday. The woman had also hurled abuses at his girlfriend and even waited in the house after the assault before police arrived and arrested her.
Jamaluddin added that his 25-year-old girlfriend was also injured on the face, chest and thigh in the attack.
He divorced his wife in May and was scheduled to get the relevant court documents after Hari Raya.
“She must have been waiting in the house when my girlfriend and I returned home after supper at about 4am,” said Jamaluddin, who has been with the police force for three years.
His married the woman last year but the union lasted only eight months.
“We got married after being in love and having a long distance relationship for several years before I joined the police force.
“I never imagined that she would be such a possessive wife who never allowed me to go out alone anywhere except when I was working.
“Once she tried to commit suicide by leaping from the fourth floor of some flats opposite my home as she believed I was having an affair because I came home late from work,” he said.
Jamaluddin said that he wanted to take his ex-wife for psychiatric help but she always insisted that she was fine.
Asked whether he would forgive her for what she has done, he said: “I will lodge a report after I am well and I never want to see her again.”
Jamaluddin said he last met her in court in June, adding that he hoped that his ex-wife would be locked away and be given psychiatric help.
Nusajaya OCPD Supt Abd Aziz Ahmad said the suspect was under remand.
If convicted of causing grevious hurt, she could face a maximum jail term of 20 years and a fine or whipping.

I was thinking, the 'victim' was in the house with his girlfriend. Are they legally married to be in the same house? Next, downstairs before heading upstairs to bed, along with the girl friend? Again, legally married? Lastly, felt burning sensation on his back and turned around. Think, why the back felt the acid first? In what position could he be in for his back to be the first surface of his body to come in contact with the acid? I think his lying on his front body, why? You can guess the reason already for sure. So overall, are they legally married again and would not they have committed a crime under the Islamic law? He only thinks of convicting his ex-wife for what she has done, what about the wrong doing of his according to Islamic law?

H1N1 - Wear a mask?

Came to work after not feeling well yesterday. Was walking along the tunnel from the KLCC Convention Center to KLCC Tower, saw a lot of people walking with masks on. This is a good and bad sign, meaning more people is infected and at the same time, people is getting educated. But is this not far too late, when the current situation is so wide spread, only people take it for serious?

The sad thing is that not all wearing it correctly, how are they suppose to protect them selves? Some wear the wrong side, some tie the back knot loosely or tie wrong place whereby not able to give proper support, die not press in the nose piece for closing in on the face shield and face gap and some probably not using once but may have been reusing it.

Hmm... hope the situation will turn good soon, else more and more will be infected.

Moody

Sigh, all of a sudden. I got infected and turned moody... Sigh, what a day...

Flora Fest @ Putrajaya 2009

Had the chance to go shooting at this event on Sunday, reached there at about 9am. We walked about the garden for few hours, stop for a pit stop, then proceed to shoot even more photos and end the trip at about 1pm plus. After that, we proceed back to Sri Petaling where CL's house is and the 4 of us downloaded the photos and review it and convert, also to perform some minor editing using the PhotoShop. The whole album has not completed yet, hopefully can complete it by today and then can upload all for viewing :) Stay tuned for my updates :D

Short but nice Langkawi Trip 2009

Had took some time off work to spend my weekend at Langkawi from 24 - 27 July 09. The main purpose is for relaxing, alcohol drinks and also photoshooting while eating around Langkawi. Had the chance to eat nice food and meet some nice people, great trip along with our photography gears. Both myself and Sarah is learning up some new techniques and our gears more as we spend more time on photography. Manage to take few shots here and there... some of the photos that we took are at the following location for viewing :-)

Bon Odori 2009

The Bon Odori this year is held at the same place as the previous years to commomerate the Ghost Festival for Japan folks. Took my gear, Olympus E-3, 12-60mm and 50-200mm to the event and started shooting some candid shots of some of the best moments that was seen there. The link to the album is at below:

Didn't take too many shots, however below is the slide show of the day shots.

Terence & Hui Nee's Wedding Luncheon

Attended Terence and Hui Nee's wedding luncheon at Noble Banquet. Congratulations to them on this great event of their life! I had the opportunity to use my E-3 on that day, probably get a tip or two from some mentors there for wedding shooting. Below is the slideshow of the photos that i took the other day:

Busy, tiring yet lazy days...

Been some time since my last post, been about 3 months already. What have i been up to? Most of my time, workign my ass throughout the weekdays and weekends. What do i get? Nothing, what a DAMN!!!

What are my plans ahead? To enjoy more of my life and make the full out of it. Those plans up my sleeve are of course vacation, outings, photo shooting and etc...

Hope all these can come true soon...

Winnie's Registration of Marriage (ROM)

Attend Winnie's ROM previous weekend at Thien Hou Temple on 27 June 09. Went and did some shots even i was late. I was not technically late, just that they started the ROM without us where they started earlier than the time slot given. Sigh, missed it due to the poor management of the people there...

Enjoy the pics :)

Winnie and Nick, Congratulations!!!

Good old days in the new era?

Monday start with outstanding work from the previous night, so end up i had to take lrt to work as the clock shows 7.30am when i left my house since driving to work is equivalent to suicide.

It took me like about 15 minutes before i made my way into the lrt and then travelled to KL Sentral. Upon reaching KL Sentral and the following station, a LRT coordinator stepped in and 'announced' "masuk masuk, tengah tengah ada tempat lagi!". I felt like back to the old days of Mini Bus in KL. The only difference is that the coordinator added the word 'terima kasih' to the end of his statement. Only that, other than that is the exact same as the good old days.

Hot but laid back weekend...

Its a hot weather weekend, with so little rain in average and even night temperature is also high which cause me hard to sleep as well, even in air-cond room. Probably in heat? Hahaha... Anyway, had the chance to had 2 meals of Thai meals this weekend, the first one was at the normal place that we had, where me, Sarah and Amanda went for it since their parents went out. We had the good dishes; tom yum in coconut, fried paku vege, fried sotong and braised pig knuckle and the total cost was about RM77, Sarah paid for the meal, thanks for the meal. Then we drove to Little Korea @ Ampang and bought some nice breads and ice-cream for dessert. Since we are already in Ampang and Amanda never been to Look Out Point, so we decided to drive there and we walked up the Look Out Point to see the night scenery. Actual reason were to help in digestion of the amout of food intake that we had for dinner. The weather was pretty stunning, allowing us to have a good night view of KL/Ampang. The sad part was that i didn't bring my E-3 with me, too bad. Perhaps next week or the following week if i am in town, perhaps...

Next day, Sunday we had Thai for lunch as well. The location is near to Ampang Look Out Point where we went yesterday. Sarah's dad informed that the dishes there are nice and fairly cheap as compared to outside restaurant. So we drove up there (the 4 of us, Sarah, Amanda, uncle and me) as aunty was helping out in the HOSPIS charity sale. the photos of the dishes that we ordered is as below:

Total bill for the food plus with chinese tea + ice is about RM79.50 for 4 person. What do you think? Cheap? I think so, and along with the environment, i would say its fairly new to most KL folks. Took the opportunity to have some shots nearby, below is the slide show of the shots that i have taken, enjoy it!

It was indeed a nice weekend, a slow one as i had minimal time to spend on work related stuff and most of the time was spend on myself. This is something good for me, after the week long of unfinished work. Now, i am just hoping next week i would be able to have my weekend and do not need to travel offshore for rig up as next week would be the weekend for Labour Day, long weekend and my parents would be going for a family outing at PD. Hope i won't be missing it eventually due to work again. Really need to have more balance in life and work. Life is short, need to make the best out of the years that we have...

Work, Life, Family, Friends, ...

All those in life that matters to you or each one of us. Sometimes life just don't go according to what you want it to be, however, sometimes life can be a little bit more leniant on us. I was hoping badly that i can be in town this weekend, as i would like to attend one charity bazaar or sale, by giving a helping hand and play a role. However, due to work issues, i might not be able to go but today it was finalised that this week i would be in town, however this very day is also the day where by i was told that i might need to go offshore the next weekend. Meaning skipping my trip with family and also celebrating Labour's Day offshore working. What a way to celebrate Hari Kuli :-( Not much choice i guess, that is work...

Now i am just hoping things can be better by me need not head offshore, hoping that my colleague can make it back in time for the rig up, lets hope that this is true i pray. Till then, will be hoping and praying :-)

Long Postponed Updates

Sounds familiar to some of you? Probably as the title was plucked from one of my friend's blog that i can recall. It have been some time since i blogged, probably due to my workload which is pressing on me hard. I hardly can find the time for myself or with my loved ones, either i am on call or need to work long hours even its weekend. After completing all the work, i am too dead tired to do anything else interesting or out of extra ordinary. Been living a quite a boring life with work in my mind or way all the time.

One of the time when i have some time off is 2 Saturday back, on the 11 April 2009 whereby myself, Sarah and Kuan Ming headed for a day trip to Melacca. We took off from KL early morning @ 8am and reach Melacca at about 10.30am as i was driving slow. What is the rationale of getting summons to speed to a location whereby the initial plan was to have some fun and have a laid back life. We went there to eat Chicken Rice Ball, Popiah(x2), Coconut Shake, Wan Tan Mee(x3), Nyonya Laska, Barli Lime, Rojak, Fruits Candy Coated with malt, Dim Sum and etc. Too much to express in words for the foods that we have consumes. Bet my girlfriend, Sarah put on few hundred grams for sure :)

We went around Melacca for photo shoot, and below would be the slideshow of the photos taken throughout the trip. Enjoy :-)

Had a great time in Melacca despite coming back dead tired and with sun burned marks on my face due to pro long exposure under the direct sunlight.

Great weekend...

Weekend was GREAT!!! Why? Able to spend quality time with my loved ones as i have been busy throughout the weekend for the past few weeks, probably 3 weeks ago. This weekend, due to the slow down of activity for PCSB rigs, i was able to spend more time with my family, friends and Sarah. As time past by, come to new week again, hence thinking if the coming week will be busy one for me or perhaps i might need to go offshore? Hope not as i would still like to have some relaxing weekend if possible :-) Hope all well for the coming week then!!!

Cheap weekend :-(

Sigh, been experiencing cheap weekends lately, probably for the past 3 or 4 weeks. Don't get what i mean? Haha...actually i didn't want to understand either, but just too bad... i understand it. Cheap as in only worth RM55 to buy my time for weekend (per day...) to slave myself with non-stop works. All work and no play for me!!!

Crappy employer

Crap...just got to know, i have outstanding payment for AMEX CC due to my company charge it to my card, without telling me and the statement did not come to my attention at all. Since Jan 09 till now is abt 3 months with 3.5% interest. FUCK, lousy crappy company, spend money for official business matter but end up paying myself and the INTEREST!!! Don't want to go anywhere more, next time ask me go here and there, FUCK OFF!!! Now, NO MONEY, NO TALK!!!

Counting seconds... Brings back memories...

I was watching a series movie, Monk at this hour alone in the Level 17 of Tower 2 at KLCC which is also the PCSB office. Why i am there? It is the second episode of my previous post. In this episode, it tells a story of Christmas celebration and i had a flash back, to the times when i was in Hong Kong with Sarah for our vacation back in the end of November and early December 2008.

It was a happy moments for us, getting our ass away from this busy and hectic life style while having a laid back vacation at a place where we are looking forward to go for quite some time. Although it was not as laid back as i mentioned just now, as we are on a trip/vacation, it meant to be always in a rush to cover as many locations as possible while we were there. We were pretty exhausted throughout the trip, but it was worth it every moment of it and pain on my shoulder, legs and body which is accumulated through the heavy bag that i have been carrying around throughout the journey.

Seeing that series, it brings back memory and i was hoping that i could be having another vacation real soon to somewhere else other than have to sit in office to work my ass for some crap ass... Sigh, guess that is the work nature, after working for quite some time. Well, until my next vacation i have to endure all these and be strong.

Counting seconds...

The clock shows 1:30am and i am currently at KLCC, Tower 2, PCSB office at level 17. Why? Cause i am currently on standby while they are drilling on the rig. It takes ages to drill the well as they are drilling so very slow. for the past 24 hours, only drilled less than 200m, imagine how long it will take to drill 600m plus before they will perform cleaning. I am currently getting sleepy and while waiting for time to past, i am watching some movies and blog to kill some time.

Getting boring lately... life... I am just hoping that i need not work tomorrow night as i am kind of tired and need some rest, at the same time would like to spend my weekend with some more important people in my life...

Hope life gets better and meaningful in the coming future :-)

I am wondering...

Currently i am stuck in a position where i dislike most. To go or not to go. The uncertainty is always haunting me as the previous time as well. I might need to go offshore soon if things don't go well or as how i plan it to be. Why? Cause one of my colleague was blacklisted and he could not go to 'his' rig anymore, so only left me and another one more guy. The other guy seems assigned to another job, so meaning only myself available, so guess what? Most probably i will be going. What is the sad part is that it falls on the wrong time, wrong place and wrong feel.

Guess what? Due to the reason that i may be asked to go offshore, i started to pray that the operation get postponed so that i get to stay in KL for the single reason that i want to be in town, to be with my dearest Sarah. Sigh... hate this feeling, of being taken so far away from my plans and also being not able to paln my own life and god knows what come next!

So bad of me to have that feeling and wishes, but hey i am still a normal human being with a normal life. And above all, my pay is not to the extend where it would able to cover all my sacrifices. Problem that money can solve or settle is not problem, but not all the time that money can solve all issue. For some, no matter how much you are paid, it still never will be enough for some certain sacrifices in life.

Late then never - My CNY wishes :-)

Happy Chinese New Year, though late wishes, today is already the 12th day of the chinese calendar, but better than no wishes for this year. Hmm... CNY this year had its pros and cons. This year, the CNY leave is considered good, as for those in KL working, taking 3 days off will result in straight 10 days holiday. What more can you expect if it was not 10? I wanted to take more days off but guess good things need to come to an end, why not leave it to later when it could be best utilised :-) Cons is that i am so happen to be on-call throughout the celebration, with money for sure, but the feel of not able to enjoy the fullest and had to carry my laptop with me when visiting. Imagine, bringing laptop bag around during CNY, not the best thing that could ever happen. Why? Cause laptop bag can be considered as 'book bag' or in cantonese is pronounce is 'shu pau' which means sure lose. Surely those gambler would not want to meet me with that bag :-)

Since this year is not that good in terms of economic stability of the world nations, which also include our tiny country, just hope that things will turn out fine for me in terms of my work and hope there is progress over all and chances of advancement. Also hope all my family and friends would stay healthy and happy in life, bet that is the most important one in life. Some may hope for wealth and etc, but come to think of it, happiness is the main thing for me in life. Old fashion? Perhaps but what more can we get out of life if we are not happy clocking our daily shifts of our lifetime? Tell me or share with me if you have your thoughts.

What is left? Another 3 days more to go and CNY is over. Sigh, why time passes so damm fast, and the meaning of CNY seems to be fading, more to a days off rather than some big celebration. This year i tried to bring back some tradions back to my home, helped to decorate my house with some red stuff and hangging items, that could obviously bring up the CNY mood and as well to chip in to the reunion dinner with my relatives. Also to help out in preparing the food and not just sit and wait for food like the previous years, kind of like the idea of preparing for CNY as one whole family :-)

All well so far... hope this year will be a better year for all :-)

Time to Eat?

Food - which is the daily consumption of food intake for us not to starve or become hungry while performing our daily chores? Do you think you can get bored or sick of eating and not to eat?

I personally think this is possible as I am currently having that similar feeling with me now. Why you would ask? This is because I have been on the oil rig for the past 11 days and have been consuming the same type of food daily, either in the type of meat or vegetable served or the way of cooking the raw ingredients into the final food that is place on the serving table. I have had enough, rather more than enough of the food and grew no interest to eat those foods. I tend to miss the simple yet cheap food that I could get back in KL rather than be eating steak for few days in a row. Why I still eat? I still drag myself to eat, just for one single reason. Eating can be consider one of most efficient way to kill/waste time while being on the rig, without a proper assignment to do other than to be on standby. This is how I am living my life for the past few days, about 12 days and still counting on. How long more can I stand this purpose of eating rather than to fill my stomach? I am not sure; probably hoping for this dreadful wait to end as soon as possible and for me to once again enjoys the pleasure of having a meal, either a simple and cheap meal or a special and expensive one. Probably the true meaning of the meal would lies on the reason and also the environment while having the perfect meal each time.

May I have a proper and happy meal as soon as possible, can’t remember the last time I have the pleasure of eating a proper meal. Lets pray for me so that I can return back to land soon :-)

Still where i am 10 days ago...

As I am bloging this, I am currently still on Trident-17 for performing the standby duty that was assigned to me since the early of Jan 2009. From the first day that I have arrive, today have already been the eleventh day that I am here, doing nothing and just waiting for the time to come for the job to complete or finish drilling where it would also be the time for me to return back to my home sweet home. For the past 11 days, I have been doing nothing other than sleep, watching tv / movie, reading books, shower, eat, shit and the whole cycle continues. What is the worst part is that the feeling of able to go home and then suddenly being changed and things do not go according to plan and I get stranded longer and longer here, with nothing much to do and accomplish. Only waiting for the job to complete and then to leave, that is the worst feeling ever, but I have got no choice as it is part of my job.

Been waiting for the job to come to an end, but seems like not happening yet, seems like coming to an end, but eventually things get screwed up when you think it is going fine and the next minute, it is screwed up and then the whole job is delayed. At first, thought can go back by Sunday, then the engine got problem, delayed 2 days. Then fixed, start to drill, then got some losses while drilling and then delayed another 2 days and now back on track for drilling. How to know what will happen next? You can’t know for sure at all. It is so flexible that it can change within minute.

What is on my mind now? I am hoping that the job end as soon as possible and then also for me to return home safely, quickly and healthy condition. I would like to go home to my love ones and those that I love, also to see my little puppy, Jack. If all goes well, I should be on my way back to home by this weekend. Today has already been my 11th day out here, may it come to an end soon. Cheers.

Stranded at Miri Airport - Chopper delayed :(

Now i am blogging from Miri Airport, using Starbucks wifi connection. My chopper supposingly be at 11am, was delayed to 2pm and i arrived at the airport for check in by 9.30am. Sigh, meaning waiting time of about 4 hrs. If to use the 4 hours, will use it in the town for some makan and etc, unlike now...stranded in the airport.

Will be going offshore to Trident-17 for a standby job. From my point of view, it is a total waste of time but from the perspective of the company it will be good as they can charge to customer. But from my side of the story, wasting my time and burning my weekend on the rig. Why waste of time? Cause we do have some personnel on board, they could help us if anything was not going right and also from our track record, the service that we are rendering would be considered good by having minimal down time due to our service, but the old grumppy ass, who survived a mild stroke still insist that we send one person there. Wanted to turn it down, but guess there is no running away as there is no anyone else that can go already as most is still away due to the year end celebration of 2008 and new year of 2009. Hence, i have no choice but to go, i know i sounded reluctant, yes i am indeed. Kind of boring to go there, as i dont have much job to do as well, just eat, sleep, shit, eat, sleep, shit and wait for time to past.

Gosh, how to past time there? I bought lots of movie, i hope to be sufficient to last me for a week, until i am given the green light to return and also to read some of the books that i brought with me. Some of those books that i bought some time ago, but just didn't have the chance to complete reading those in KL since most of the time i would be held up with some activities in town.

Since i am here, i notice that i am missing a few things already. I missed Amanda's charity visit to the HIV + Shelter Home in Kg. Cheras Baru, where they are doing a good deed in trying to raise fund for the home. If i were there, surely i would not be alone, will have Sarah with me and also my faithful Olympus E-510 to have some shots of the environment where the children would be self-producing the key chains to be sold to the society with a price. Too bad i am not there to capture those moments and also to brush up my skills and techniques. I missed the first weekend to be spend with my family, Sarah and also Jack Jack. My mum reminded me, that last year about this time around, i was also posted offshore from my return to KL from Cameron Highland as well. Gosh, why am i so unlucky :( Grumppy me, but i know i am complaining a lot, perhaps that is me, my way to release some build up tension in me.

Since this is a standby job, i have got no idea when the job will complete and i can be on my way back home, to KL a place called home, home sweet home. I keep wondering and giving hope that i could return early, asap but wonder how effective my wishes will be ths time round. Previous trip, most of the time the plan do not go accordingly to plan. Hope this time can have exceptional and me to be back as soon as possible. How many days? No idea, some were saying 5-6, some were saying 9-10, some were saying MORE. I was like Oh My God...so long? Damm!!! I will just go nuts for staying so long on the rig, doing nothing but waiting.

Why i dislike the rig? Mainly due to the isolation from the outside world. When offshore, there is limited, close to no communication to the outside world. No internet, no mobile calls, no land calls... total isolation. Internet is so limited, especially on some old rigs, phone calls are so controlled, minimal talk time for official matter, what about personal? By right should be 15 minutes per week, enough? As for mobile, some rigs do not allow handphone, some do, but the irony part is that there will be no reception at all. So what is the difference of having the phone with you or without it?

It is 11.30am now, another 2 more hours to go. How am i going to kill time? Probably have my lunch, then a nap till 1pm i guess. This would be my last chance of using the internet and mobile phone for now, not sure when i would have the free access to these facility until i return to land. Gosh, now i am thinking of how nice if today i were on my way back to KL instead than going offshore :(

To all those that i missed in KL, miss you guys much, hope to be back soon!!!

Outstanding from year 2008?

Few things were left undone or didn't have the time to complete it before the year 2008 rolled down its curtain. Some of them are as below:

1) Edit most of my photos that was taken during the year and on the trips that i have went or also some events that i attended.

2) Complete the Hong Kong journal that i was looking forward to close by year end.

3) Get a copy of the Mamma Mia soundtrack from Istana Budaya as promised to Sarah, but due to my sudden notice to fly offshore, this has been distrupted.

4) Watch Bedtime Stories at cinema, but due to the packed cinema during holiday seasons and also sudden call to go offshore, this has to be delayed to a later date.

5) Pack up my room to a better state than now... for the preparation for the coming CNY. Bet have to do this when i come back from offshore.

6) Hmm... wall climbing course. Which was promised to Sarah earlier but due to my busy schedule with work; whereby initially i was to work on weekends as well, also to go offshore when needed, so the weekend were not able to cater for this activity yet.

7) Have more time on photography... to improve and sharpen my skills.

8) Send my Jack to 'obedience class' to train him up to be more obidient.

List goes on...

Need to get time to settle those unsettled business asap by the new year...

Happy New Year 2009

Another year have passed...

Year 2008 whoosh away and here comes year 2009. For chinese, it will be a year of the bull. But for most, it has been foreseen as a year of economic downturn + crisis for some countries or even businesses. So it would not be a great huh hah after all. The year came as it comes, unlike previous years where the new year comes with a big bang or just a bang.

Nothing sad or happy to mention about the new year yet, hence would like to wish all my friends, Happy New Year 2009. May the new year bring joy, happiness, wealth and health to all in this hardship year forseen by most people. May we live the best out of what is available and most important of all would be to stay positive and live life happy.
